In 1796 American diplomats drafted the Treat of Tripoli, in Arabic, in order to stop Muslims from murdering and enslaving American sailors simply because they were non-muslims and within the doctrine of violent Jihad.

The language of the treay says it all, and is haunting:

"Art. 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries." http://www.stephenjaygould.org/ctrl/treaty_tripoli.html

Notice that America is asking "that no pretext arising from religious opinions (Quran - Jihad), shall ever produce" war, as it does now!

Of course, that won't stop people from using their religious superstitions to promote wars. This is as true for Christians as it is for Muslims.

That's why the government tried to assert its position that it is independent of religions. Our founding fathers discussed this and decided to leave mention of any god out of the Constitution, just for this very reason. It's why the Constitution explicitly says there shall be no religious test for public office (something that the people protesting Obama using a Quran to swear in should remember), and why the first Amendment to the Constitution was to clarify that government and religion should remain separate.

However, the nuts in this country want a theocracy here anyways, as if this ever worked anywhere else.

Yeh, that was pretty bad of the some of those fundamentalist Islam based countries. But Jihad doesn't mean holy war...it means struggle. Furthermore, it wasn't religiously based...it was economically based because they enslaved many sailors.

Now let me ask you a question:
How many Christians, Jews, and Muslims alike did the Crusaders kill when they conquered Jerusalem during the 1st Crusade?

Why did Crusaders of the 4th Crusade sack and kill the people pf Constantinople, a Greek Orthodox Christian city?

This isn't about Muslims. It's about two nations. Don't generalize about religion based on the actions of secular leaders. Secular leaders of all religious backgrounds have done bad things, sometimes in the name of religion. The religions themselves are not to blame for such misuses.

It doesn't say stop using. It says "...no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce..."

Anyway, why do you dig up 111 year old treaties and wave them in our face?

I bet there are hundreds such treaties broken by America.

You and the likes of you, have made Satan the master of their affairs, and he has taken them as partners. He has laid eggs and hatched them in their bosoms. He creeps and crawls in their laps. He sees through their eyes, and speaks with their tongues. In this way he has led them to sinfulness and adorned for them foul things like the action of one whom Satan has made partner in his domain and speaks untruth through his tongue.
