I have a fat lip, my tooth went through. Where it went through it is white, is that normal?

It's a pretty big gash, and the tissue that is left hanging is white. Is that because it drying up?

LUKE, THIS IS EXPECTED AFTER THE INJURY YOU SUSTAINED. GRADUALLY, AS IT HEALS IT WILL RETURN TO NORMAL.
