Examples - When a bunch of Wiccans are rolling around on the floor, having sex with each other, whether they even know each other or not,not caring if they are doing a member of the opposite sex or one of the same sex - that is an orgy. When they torture animals, that is animal cruelty. If they feel they are doing nothing wrong, why do they get mad when it's called what it is?

This is what I mean. A Wiccan that I work with told me about her coven, and the animal sacrifices they do (like it or not, slitting an animal's throat and watching it bleed out is torture) and when they all had sex for "energy". So do not call me names, I got this info from a Wiccan.

I am not "sanctimonious", and I do not even belong to any religious group.

And I am NOT lying. I asked this woman about something she had hanging from the mirror of her car (when she gave me a ride to work one day) and that was when she told me she was a Wiccan, and about the rituals she attends.

We who are Wiccans get angry when people who know nothing about our beliefs run off at the mouth

I hope you don't write stories for a living.
Young lady, either you are trying to get yourself a PhD (Piled High and Deep) made out of steer droppings or you are by far one of the most gullible people on the face of the earth, I'm not sure which I am in favor of believing.

If it's the former it paints you out to be mean-spirited, petty, and low life, perfect for a job as a Jerry Falwell Televangelist IMHO.

If it's the latter then you fit right up there with those folks who would rather believe the worst rather than do just a little research to get the real truth of something.

How do you know the woman is a wiccan? Because she said so? If she has worked with you for any length of time she probably got tired of your sanctimonious clap trap and said it just to shock you. But in your little black and white world it just fit an image you wanted to believe didn't it?

I hate to think you spend a lot of your day this way. Sad, very very sad.

I'd be very interested in finding out just what Tradition this person (who I don't even believe is real) says she is.

If this is not simply bogus troll-baiting, then the person who has told you this is lying about at least one thing. IF what she has told you is what goes on at the things she attends (which I don't believe), they are NOT Wiccan rituals. The people doing them may have called it "wiccan", but it's not.

I'm NOT a newbie, and neither is my hubby, and he's BTW, and we've both attended all KINDS of rituals by people in different traditions of Wicca.

But most likely you're either making this up or she is.

Y'know, Christians also used to say that Jews ate babies.

BTW, if you really are not just making this up, why don't you act enthusiastic about it, and ask to be invited to one of the rituals...and then report them to the police if what she describes is what is really going on?

I would certainly have them arrested for killing animals. but it won't come to that, because either you're lying, or she is.

So you feel it is right to judge an entire religion by the words of one person, without bothering to do any real objective research about it---including the simple act of Googling the word "Wicca" to see if your friend was an accurate representation of an entire religion. It seems that facts might get in the way of your opinions.

I'm not a Wiccan but I have honestly and objectively researched the faith of my friends who follow that path. I haven't found anything like you have described, but then again, my sources are more substantial than, "because someone said so".

To answer your question, most people get angry when they are purposely misrepresented by others.

Wiccans don't as a rule have "group orgies" and they SURE AS HEL DON"T sacrifice animals. I don't care what this person claims to be they are NOT WICCAN.

Q: Do you do blood sacrifice?
A: Goddess NO! The nature of sacrifice is to give up something of one's own in order to gain something more important. Wiccans believe in the sanctity of all life. Most pagans believe that animals are part of the same natural cycle of life as humans are. Witches have long been associated with animal companions known as "familiars." Check out the TWV "Cats of Witchcraft" page. Do these animals look abused to you?

When communion is called canibalism, do you get a little upset?
When someone calls the virgin birth, Mary hiding from her father's anger, do you get a little disturbed?

Wicca does not necessarily embrace orgies... hedonism on the otherhand does.

Muslims during Haj this year suffered over 1300 self inflicted injuries when they attempted to sacrifice animals to their religion....

Pentecostals believe that speaking in tongues is more than just a cry for attention, and Atheists think everyone is just fooling themselves.

Did I mention that everyone else seems to think that Atheists are going to hell?

Judge not lest ye also be judged.

Wiccans do NOT torture animals. the Wiccan creed (i.e., the number one rule which Wiccans live by) is do what you will if it harm none. Harming an animal would surely go against that creed.
I suggest you take it upon yourself to learn something about another religion's beliefs before you attempt to speak to those people. Otherwise, you come off looking not just hateful. but woefully ignorant.

If you find that a lot of Wiccans are mad at you- it's because it looks like you don't understand their religion, have no plans to educate yourself, but are all to happy to continue believing and spreading lies.

As for the "Wiccan" you spoke to- as you can see, all the Wiccan's here can tell you that she is not living the Wiccan creed. She probably knows little to nothing regarding Wicca, and is using the term as loosely as you, for whatever reason. Don't limit your knowledge of an entire religion to one kook in your office. Don't forget, there's been many serial killers in the past who consider themselves Christian (the BTK killer of Witchita, who was leader of his Lutheran church). Would you like for people to judge you and other Christians based on that and that alone? How about picking up a book on Wicca, and learning what our religion is really about? Even if you don't agree with our beliefs, we'll appreciate that you took the time to at least get the truth.

Um....I don't know where you got your information from but Wiccans do NOT have orgies or torture animals in their rituals. I think they get mad because you are accusing them of something that they just don't do.

Don't believe me, try going to a Wiccan ritual sometime--assuming you get invited--and stop listening to what your parents, pastor, friends, or teachers tell you.

Actually. No, you didn't get that information from a "wiccan".
Wiccans do not practice animal sacrifice or ritual orgies.
You really need to learn a thing or two instead of simply trying to tell LIES just to make people angry.

Wow.
You REAAALLY don't know much about Wicca do you?

http://www.wicca.com/celtic/wicca/rede.htm

Read it.

Their ENTIRE RELIGION is based on the worship and respect of nature.
Please, become more educated on a subject before you slam it.

The Wiccan religion is a combination of several of the "old religions", aka Norse, Celtic, Roman, Greek, etc..

They ARE NOT devil worshipers (most of them don't believe in hell, just in karma/the threefold rule), they do not advocate violence of ANY kind, and do NOT use sex magick.

If you'd like any more info, I can help educate you, just gimme an email.

What Wiccan rituals have you been to that have had animal killing and group orgies? I've been to hundreds, and none of those took place. Are you sure they are actual Wiccans? Because animal torture is against religious law in the Wiccan religion.
