I have a siberian husky, he is 4months 3weeks. He has about 6 dog toys in he toy box which he plays with but eventualy after 5 minutes or so he gets bored so he plays with an other toy but then he gets bored again after 5 minutes. After he will go around looking in the house to do something. If finds something like a sock on the floor or something he can pick up he'll take that and play with it. So now i put away all that stuff but now he always looks around like to do something. How can i keep him occupied for hours and hours either with a toy or something. Thanks.

Go to Petsmart os Petco. They have these great toys called Kongs. The come in all different sizes. They carry special cookies and peanutbutter type goodies to put inside. My dog always kept herself busy for hours. Plus its fun to watch. Good luck!

Go to www.dog.com and buy Puppy Kong Toys. You can give him a stuffed Kong or a Kongsicle.

Stuffed Kong:
Smear a bit of peanut butter inside the Kong and then stuff it with his kibble. Block up the large end of the kong with a milkbone or some bread. Your puppy will have to chew on the Kong to get the food to come out.

Kongsicle:
Mix a portion of his food with water and a spoonful of low fat yogurt or peanut butter. When the food is soft and mushy, stuff it into the Kong. Use a small piece of Velveeta or a BilJack treat in the small end so it doesn't leak. Then put the Kong in the freezer. A "Kongsicle" takes hours to work through.

There are also Buster Box toys and other food puzzles that you can find online or at Petco or PetSmart. It's totally natural for dogs to work for food. It not only works their jaws, but it works their brains - and a tired puppy is a good puppy.

Best of Luck!!

Sibes are a very active breed of dog and they love high energy, high drive sports. If taking him for a run in the park or a walk in the neighborhood is not an option, try buying some good large meaty bones from one of your local grocery stores. Ask the butcher of the meat depart. if they have any left over bones that you can have or purchase for a minimal amount. Another great thing is the Kongs. You can fill the little hole with something like peanut butter (not too much) and he will try to get it out, keeping him occupied for awhile at least. Good luck

PetCo sells Kong kits. A machine releases a Kong full of goodies at set intervals. The dog has to figure out how to get the treats out, or it can be filled with peanut butter which will last the dog for a while too.

OK there are these footballs, that you fill with your dogs faverite treats, and he can roll it around for hours trying to get the treats out. I usually occupies time. And get him lots of cheap small toys that he can rotate out throgh the day.

i would take him out for a really long walk, but only as long as he can handle. when you take him home, he will be much more tired.
i also find those toys that have the holes in them that you stick dog treats into really works. my dog is very entergetic and is kept busy for a long time!

You should take him to a pet store and let him sniff out other dogs and the one he seems to like you should get as a companion :-)
