I was given metronidazole to treat my dog. I was given the liquid form. I thought I understood how much to give my dog and thinking it was written on the bottle, but its not! Now I dont remember what exactly the amount they said to give him. He weighs 16lbs. I tried to call them soon as I got home but they have closed already. Its measured in cc's.

well your vet should have medication labels on all meds. So call them in the morning or call an emergency vet. There really is no reason to panic. You should not wait around here for a vet to answer you on Yahoo. The dose is going to depend on the vet and what the med was prescribed for and the concentration of the med you were given.

Simply WAIT until you can get ahold of the vet. The dosage varies, and you really need to be sure you are giving the right amount. Most vets have an answering service of an emergency number. I would have called that. It is THEIR fault and pretty shoddy practice to dispense drugs without a label that has the dosage on it.

They are right when they say do not rely on people on here to answer. A lot of them guess at the answer and may give you a fatal dose. A lot of people on here claim to be vets ot vet techs but we have no way to verify this, so taking advice from t5hem is no good either. Ask a real vet.

CALL YOUR LOCAL EMERGENCY VET - THEY SHOULD ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS OVER THE PHONE FOR FREE. DOES YOU VETS ANSWERING MACHINE GIVE YOU A REFERRAL NUMBER TO AN EMERGENCY CLINIC? IT SHOULD, IF NOT CHECK YOUR PHONE BOOK. WHAT IS THIS MEDICINE USED FOR? CAN IT WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW? I WISH YOU AND YOUR DOG WELL.
