Hey all, i was wondering how much longer would i have to wait to get dreadlocks done? im not sure exactly how long my hair is, the front of my hair or the 'bangs' are to my jawbone. i have been growing my hair for a year and id like to get Lil Wayne type of dreadlocks, to be more specific. I'm white by the way (i know there is a difference between caucasian hair and african hair).

I also would like to ask if dreadlocks would be okay in extreme heat, because i live in Arizona and im sure all or most of you know that it gets up to 115 degrees here during the summer. Thanx for the help

You can start on them now, works ok with short hair. I do hope you know what your getting yourself in too.....As far as keeping your hair clean, or trying too. Dont listen to any one, so what if your WHITE big deal. You aren't the first nore will you be the last WHITE person to have dreads, you only live once so why not.Go for it i say. Just wish my mate Jimmy was here, he could give you the quick 401 on how to treat them, his WHITE and wear dreads come to think of it theres a few guys here in town that have them ( all 3 white).....

Wow I swear people don't anything at all sometimes. First of all white people can get dreads, IF they have curlier enough hair. If your hair is straights it not going to lock sorry. You don't not need long hair to lock, your hair will begin to grow long once it locked. Do yourself a favor and do some research and don't listen to basis opinions of others who don't know anything about them. It usually takes 3-6 months to fully lock once you get started. Go see a loctiticain.

First of all, you are white.... wtf would you want dreds for?

Second of all, dreds are just down right nasty, unless you are a dirty hippy that lives in a bush.

Third of all, you live in Arizona, dreds are already very gross, but you are going to make them ten times worse in that Arizona heat. In other words the ladies will smell you coming and hide.

Good luck gettin any.
