I'm a Catholic, and we get told all the time by many other Christians that we are going to Hell for being Catholic. It doesn't bother me that they say that, AND I BELIEVE IN HELL.

Why are people who claim that they don't even believe in Hell so hypersensitive about what Christians believe?

Because they can't admit the truth - they're too proud and arrogant to admit there is a God and that there is such a place as Hell. They are defiant against God and lash out when God is mentioned to them. Their lashing out is an admittance there they know heaven and hell - God and Satan exist, but instead of admitting their acknowledgement that they exist, they lash out and give you a good raking over the coals.

Gays don't want to admit they're living a sinful, abominable life against God, so again, some will lash out instead of admitting they're living an immoral life. Gays can't be Christians if they're living a life of immorality (homosexuality). A homo can become a Christian if they turn from their immoral lifestyle and go straight, accepting Christ as their Savior and live their lives according to God's word. They cannot live a homo lifestyle and be a Christian at the same time - impossible because homosexuality is an abomination to God - He abhors that kind of lifestyle. Read Romans 1:28-32. The term 'without natural affection' refers to homosexuality as does 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. The term 'effeminate' refers to homosexuality also. Those that commit such acts listed in these verses will NOT enter the kingdom of God. I encourage you to dig out a bible and read them!

I've seen quite a few answer's here putting down ALL Christian's.
Granted, not all Christian's are good, but you can also say that about every other Religion, race, ethnicity or group of people.
I am a Christian, I don't go around trying to force others to believe what I believe. I am not rude. As a Christian, I believe in tolerance of other religions.....It's really too bad that a of the 3 major religions....Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.....Most Christian's believe in religious tolerance.

You are living in a state of grace. Because you are firm in your beliefs and your way of life. I am catholic (convert) as well, and I know what you are saying. There are people everywhere who don't truly understand what catholicism is really about. Satan has done a good job of slandering the truth all over the world.
Homosexuals and atheists are not in a state of grace. They may think they are sure about their beliefs and ways of life, but for some reason they are not sure enough to not have to defend themselves. If they were truly faithful to their beliefs, they would not have this need to defend themselves. Or to bash other people who are living in said state of grace. They would just go about their lives (Like you and I do) being content in knowing that we have found the truth and can subsequently enter into heaven. It is a great relief for us to know this.
Atheists do not believe in heaven, and therefore have nothing to look forward to. While many atheists do not go about preaching their lack of faith, many seem to be angry with those who do have faith.
Homosexuals really mean well. They do get a lot of flack from all fronts bashing their way of life. I am of the mind that homosexuals really are born with this condition (that's a bad word, but it is the only one I could think of) That doesn't mean that I believe they are right in the way they live. That is a whole other discussion.
Point being, there is a lot these people are still questioning in their lives. I am (and am sure you are) content in my faith. My faith in God is all I need to get me through the struggles of this world.

It depends on how they say it. Just the general "atheists are going to hell", I don't really mind much anymore. But other people have said on this forum things like "I hope you'll burn in Hell!" or "I'm looking forward to you going to the fire!" -- I find it creepy and disturbing that anyone could find any sort of pleasure or satisfaction with the thought of other people burning eternally, no matter what the reason.

First................. as in the first part of your question.............

They probably have a guilty conscience.......so complaining is a way of rebellion. Also...........

"So that is why God lets an operation of error go to them, that they may get to believing the lie, in order that they all may be judged because they did not believe the truth but took pleasure in unrighteousness." 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12

Second, I am a Christian and the Bible simply does not teach that there is a Hell complete with brimestone and pitchforks.

People don't understand, nor do they care that the teaching of hellfire originated...........well, here is a portion of an article:

In ancient Babylonian and Assyrian beliefs the “nether world . . . is pictured as a place full of horrors, and is presided over by gods and demons of great strength and fierceness.” (The Religion of Babylonia and Assyria, Boston, 1898, Morris Jastrow, Jr., p. 581) Early evidence of the fiery aspect of Christendom’s hell is found in the religion of ancient Egypt. (The Book of the Dead, New Hyde Park, N.Y., 1960, with introduction by E. A. Wallis Budge, pp. 144, 149, 151, 153, 161) Buddhism, which dates back to the 6th century B.C.E., in time came to feature both hot and cold hells. (The Encyclopedia Americana, 1977, Vol. 14, p. 68) Depictions of hell portrayed in Catholic churches in Italy have been traced to Etruscan roots.—La civiltà etrusca (Milan, 1979), Werner Keller, p. 389.

But the real roots of this God-dishonoring doctrine go much deeper. The fiendish concepts associated with a hell of torment slander God and originate with the chief slanderer of God (the Devil, which name means “Slanderer”), the one whom Jesus Christ called “the father of the lie.”—John 8:44.

...........and more importatly it isn't compatible with God's Personality..........at all:

Jer. 7:31: “They [apostate Judeans] have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, in order to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, a thing that I had not commanded and that had not come up into my heart.”

(If it never came into God’s heart, surely he does not have and use such a thing on a larger scale.)

What would you think of a parent who held his child’s hand over a fire to punish the child for wrongdoing? “God is love.” (1 John 4:8)

Would he do what no right-minded human parent would do? Certainly not!

i'm a born again christian believer.we don't have to judge other people's belief.we have to respect them if you want them to respect your belief.we are all sinners...nobody is perfect.we are still in our human nature.
why there are so many people who profess to be a christian and yet they are not a doer.instead of passing judgement why don't you ask yourself first.i know some "christians" are very much extreme to their beliefs.and mind you not all these kind of people have thesame beliefs and doctrines.some are not biblical...
Jesus came not to judge the world but to save the lost(sinners like me).you can detect a person or you will know a true christians by their fruits(Fruit of the Holy Spirit in Galatians 5:22)
be a good example to other people and i'm sure you will win them for Christ....

Because their are so many christians who just will not shut the F up about it! And really, once you've heard the fire and brimstone speech once, I think you're set. And we've all heard it. So if you are the type that feels inclined to let others know that they're hell bound- somebody's already told them. Let it go.

And by the way, I don't go around telling others what horrible fates might befall them for not practicing my beliefs. Why? Because I have respect for you and you're right to live your life as you see fit. When you preach at me, it makes me think that you don't have the same respect for me that I would show you. And yes, that upsets me.

I believe gays and atheists know that what they practice is wrong and somehow try to justify it to themselves and others. They can't change what's; wrong is wrong and it can't be made right. God loves everyone. He just doesn't love what some people choose to do. They fear the eternity of Hell obviously, even though they can't admit it to themselves or anyone else. They are to weak or unwilling to change their ways. To many people think their lives will change dramatically and they won't have fun anymore. That's so not true. You end up having more fun than you ever thought possible. All sorts of people and religions will be going to heaven. The ticket is Jesus.

It's the hypocrisy of it all - Christians should be more accepting of others and stop trying to change people. Christian means Christ-like and Jesus didn't actually go around shoving religion into people's faces and trying to convert. He allegedly lived a humble life, accepting of all people and their differences and that is meant to be the example for Christians to follow. I'm an atheist and I couldn't care less what so-called Christians have to say about me.

I'm used to Christians being rude, it is pretty much in their nature. It has nothing to do with hell. I'm not a homosexual, but through identical twin study we now know scientifically that being homosexual is largely based on genetics. I do not see what discriminating against homosexuals has to do with hell, it is no better than discriminating against someone for being a person of color. It is common sense morality, which many people seem to lack. Would you like someone discriminating against you for the way you were born?
