I call each thing a Soda. i think of asserting Pop is a northern element. i'm southern besides. My renowned soda is Coke, and coke products. i won't touch any variety of pepsi product . LOL! Its a quirk!

i call soda...something i baake with....as in baking soda or brush my teeth withas baking soda as well keep my fridge smelling great

and i call carbonated drinks like pepsi and coke...POP!...and never use the term sodapop..

It's soda in my house...we live in California. My ex in laws lived in Maryland and they called it pop. Maybe it's a geographical thing.
