Mix two tablespoons unflavored powdered gelatin (found in most grocery stores) in a cup of hot tea and drink twice a day. And, increase your blood oxygenation by stopping on the hour every hour and taking ten slow, deep breaths. Aerobic exercise and not smoking also improves your oxygenation. Eat a balanced diet, drink LOTS of water, wear a granny bonnet when you sleep, keep the sun off your hair, condition with an egg white three times a week and rinse, and top your showers off with an icy cold final blast of water on your scalp.

Keep your hair well conditioned. Get a deep conditioner at least every two weeks. Use a moisturizing/detangling shampoo, but one that does not take all of the natural oils from your hair. I have found Kera Care (hydrating detangling shampoo) and Creme of Natures Ultra moisturing formula to be very good. In addition, trim you ends every six weeks and avoid putting too much heat on your hair. Excess heat causes split ends.

Keep it in good condition by keeping it trimmed (I only let them trim my hair a touch when I was growing it out) and keeping your hair in good condition. Also, eating jello! Does not actually make your hair grow longer, but it supposedly strengthens your hair and nails. And frequently, people who have trouble growing long hair have trouble because it falls out or breaks off. Stay healthy, and you will have healthy hair! Hair only grows about 1/2 inch a month, so be patient.

If you find yourself longing for long hair but hate the idea of constant bad hair days while it's growing out, take heart. Growing your hair doesn’t have to be, or look, nasty. Here are some great tips for getting the length you want while staying in style.
Instructions
STEP 1: Dispel the notion that growing your hair out means never cutting it. You will still want to have your hair trimmed to keep it healthy and give it some shape. Spacing out your trims to once every two months or so is a good start. STEP 2: Decide on the style you eventually want. Let your stylist know what length or style you’re working towards. This way she can trim your hair in a way that can help you reach your goal as quickly as possible. STEP 3: Maintain a healthy lifestyle. Although your hair is dead once it grows out of your scalp, the root is a living part of your body. To ensure maximum growth, take care of yourself by eating right, exercising, and getting enough sleep. STEP 4: Grow out all or most of your layers. Have the bottom of your hair cut while allowing the layers to “catch up.” This a great step towards longer hair. Try aiming for a blunt bob-type hairstyle first. It’s an easy first goal to achieve and will give your hair a style while it's growing out. STEP 5: Buy a good shampoo and conditioner for your hair. Since you won’t be cutting your hair as often, you’ll want to make sure you take very good care of it to avoid dryness and damage. If your hair gets dry, it may begin to split, which will rob you of the length you’ve been working so hard to obtain. STEP 6: Experiment with different looks. Your hair is going to go through many different lengths and styling possibilities on its road to your ultimate hair goal so go with it. Invest in hair accessories such as headbands to keep unruly bangs or side layers at bay and funky clips to add style to layers as they grow out. STEP 7: Fake it. If you’re getting frustrated that you’ll never get the length you want, try investing in some clip on hair extensions. Having “instant length” is a great way to keep you motivated and make your hair look great during the grow out process. Overall Tips & Warnings
Be careful about overdoing it with heated styling tools. Too much blow drying or use of flat irons or curling irons can damage hair, causing you to have to cut off more than the small trim you'd normally need.
A great color can be a super addition to your ever-changing looks, but be careful not to over do it. Too much coloring can severly damage your hair so opt for just getting your roots touched up or using a semi-permanent color for complete color changes.

Keep it trimmed about every 4 months and get your scalp massaged. Massage brings more blood flow to the area and more blood means more nutrients.
