I am wondering how bad or normal this is. My dog has become very obsessed with his ball. We have a rubber ball for him, and once its in sight, he becomes completely psycho. We have other dog toys, but he does not act like this when we play with him with these toys. Just this toy. If you take the ball, he will not stop staring, or making noises, and he shakes uncontrobbaly like he is having a seizure. He pants like crazy, and can not calm down. As soon as someone comes over, he brings the ball to them and just stares at it. He does not necessarily need us to be playing with it, sometimes he will stand on the bed, and knock it off himself just so he can fetch it. and he will even throw it himself and go get it. Other times he just lays there and licks it while he falls asleep. If you hide the ball he will run around the room sniffing for it until hefinds it, and he always does... even if its not in reach of him. He lost it for week, and was very sad and nothimself the entire weektil foun

Is your dog a Border Collie. Mine is staring at me just for reading the word ball outloud.

I say my dog has obsessive compulsive disorder. When he gets really stupid I tell him his ball / frisbee (actually worse) is sleeping.

Haha! Totally normal. Dogs can be nutty sometimes. I have three, and one decided to get possesive over a rope toy and started fighting with the other two when they tried to play with it! Nothing serious, luckily, but that toy went bye-bye. It was strange because it was very similar to other toys that they had. So it's okay...he just loves that ball. I hope he never loses it again!

American attractiveness - between the wonderful movies ever to be released and, collectively as the different 2 are completely good movies, they're going to in no way come close to Sam Mendes' masterpiece. BQ: it is totally close, yet i might in all probability say it incredibly is greater, sure - Edward Norton's overall performance is techniques-blowing, and the action picture deals with some very arguable messages nicely. BBQ: American attractiveness / Donnie Brasco / Black Swan (i comprehend Black Swan is hated with the aid of some human beings, yet i presumed it became an incredible, yet distinctive, action picture that went places different movies won't).

I can totally sympathize. Our Boston Terrier loves his bone/ball as well. He will pick it up and bring it to you by setting it on your lap. If you do not immediatley throw the ball he will jump up and paw it until you do. It is like he is reminding you. Well one night we were watching a movie and we could not take it anymore so we put the ball on top of the fridge and he stood there through the rest of the move staring up at the top of the fridge!! Obesession i suppose :)

I think he just really likes the ball. It's not necessarily a bad thing. He might lose interest of it after time. I think it's cute he loves it so much. My dog was infatuated with a stuffed green frog for awhile and I found it quite amusing.

Sounds like an OCD - can you put the ball away, and get him interested in other toys? Put it inside a sock, and get him to play tug with the sock? Attach another toy to the ball-and sock, and get him to play with that? I like that he wants to play _with you_ and the ball, it would be not-so-great if he were guarding it from you....but I think starting by changing it's appearance (put it inside something else) may help.

That is totaly normal. My dog doesn't do that but people i know's dog do that. They just get attatched to a certain toy for whatever reason. They like to show off their finding to other people and it sounds like he just wants to play. All i can say is just play with the ball with him. He'll love u for it.

I guess your dog likes it just as much as we liked our teddies or blankies. I must admit that sounds pretty scary
