3/4 cup = .75
.75/5 = 0.15 cups / dozen
0.15 x 8 = 1.2 cups of sugar to make 8 dozen cookies.

Around 1 1/4 cup, which is about 1 1/2 times the original 3/4 cup ( =1 1/8 cup) plus a little extra to make up the difference between 7.5 dozen and 8 dozen.

Note: 3/4 cup sugar doesn't sound like much for 5 dozen cookies, though.

Good Luck!

WOW~ what kind of cookie recipe calls for only 3/4 cup of sugar for 5 dozen cookies, they might not taste very good! I usually make a 2 to 3 dozen batch, depending on the size of the cookie, and I never use less than a cup of sugar. Brown or Granulated sugar. Well, Bon Appetti

1.2 cups, so you'll be safe with 1-1/4 cups.

If you divide the 3/4 cup sugar by 60 cookies (5 dozen), you get .0125 cup of sugar per cookie. Then multiply .0125 cup times 96 cookies (8 dozen), which comes out to 1.2 cups. 1-1/4 cups is the same as 1.25 cups - close enough to 1.2 for cookies.

5 dozen = 3/4 cup

Per dozen it's .15 cups of sugar. So 8 dozen is 1.2 cups (1 1/5 cups)

without getting overly complicated on this
The standard way to convert any recipe is by placing the new yield on top
the old yield below it
coming up with a number called the conversion factor and then multiplying all the ingredients by that number
it also helps immensely if the ingredients in the old yield are first converted to ounces and their fractions are converted to decimals
so 8/5 = 1.6 cf
1.6 *.75 c = 1.2 or slightly less than 1/14 c
