to be honest its best to tell her now so she can deal with it all at once because if she aventually get over her mothers death and then you drop another one on er she will fall right back down!

You HAVE to get that little girl some professional help. TODAY! Look in your phone book under Mental Health. If you can not find anything in there then phone the closest childrens hospital and ask for "children's mental health" Explain to them the situation. And make her an appointment. These are 24hr hotlines so please do it now. You should also look for a support group in your area for yourself as she will need a lot of support in her healing process. Do NOT tell her about granny at this time.
I can not stress enough to do this right away. That little girl is very fragile.

hi there i think it's to much for a 5 year old to handle you better off asking someone in the medical field. she is in too much pain right now you said she just started to eat don't want her to stop again. she needs family love caring take her to watch a movie shopping anything to take her mind a bit off her problems. she is only a child. god bless. you can also talk to your church for help.

Keep spending time with her, build her dependance on the fact that you will be there for her.
As for explaining that her grandma is sick, just let her know that. Her grandma is very sick. If there is a chance you can visit her, let your new adopted visit her grandma and she will understand how sick she is...
she should probably be set up with a family councilor.

Just explain to her in a language a five-year old can understand. Relay the facts to her as you did to us, except with more loving care and understanding of her feelings.
