Bipolar disorder, also known as manic-depressive illness, is a brain disorder that causes unusual shifts in a person's mood, energy, and ability to function. Different from the normal ups and downs that everyone goes through, the symptoms of bipolar disorder are severe. They can result in damaged relationships, poor job or school performance, and even suicide. But there is good news: bipolar disorder can be treated, and people with this illness can lead full and productive lives.

Hi Crystal,
I have been involved working in the field with bipolar, and many other mental illnesses. I would suggest you have your doctor check out your knee joints and muscles because I have never heard of an connection between the two. Bipolar is neurological and muscle joints can be involved in the neuro system but I would think you should get it checked because the two don't tie in together.
As for Jany's answer, honey Iam sorry about your mother but her issues are NOT the same as Crystals. If your mother has multiply personalities that is usually do to schizophrenia.

You poor thing.

You're likely suffering from Bipolar and Sore Knees. I've never heard of a link between the two. unless Being Bipolar makes you do risky things that are damaging your knees. Bipolar's get on a high and sometimes don't take good care of themselves. They just go and go with little sleep. Spending money, doing outrageous things; then the down cycle comes and everything s*cks. And some are rapid cyclers and some are slower. I read there are several grades of Bipolar. There's a lot to know about it. Medication can help stabilize one's mind. And a good regular Doctor could have a look at those knees. I hope I helped a bit

ok let me set everyone straight. Multiple personality disorder IS NOT the same as schizophrinia!!! One is where someone has diff. personalities within themself and have pieces of time missing when the "alters" come out. The other is where they hear voices inside their head.
You need to go to your dr. to be diagnosed. Take care of yourself.
