I'm thinking its a dachshund thing! My dog is 5 years old and shes been doing it from the beginning. Not so much when I come home, but my husband, a couple of my sisters, my mom, my one neice. She gets so excited when they come over or if I take her to their houses she pittles.

She is still a puppy and is excited. Puppies urinate within 20 minutes of drinking and eating.
As she gets older she should have more bladder control. She is also somewhat afraid of you and is showing some submissiveness to you. Does she roll on her back when she approaches you are squats and ducks her head while wagging her tail? This is an indication she is trying to be submissive. How do you respond? Do you yell or hit her when she does that or do you start saying cuss words loudly? If so, then you are inadvertantly teaching her to be afraid of you when you return.
Praise Praise Praise her and build her confidence.
Take her on frequent walks.
If all else fails speak with your vet and make sure she doesn't have a bladder, kidney problem.

A lot of dogs do this. I call 'm pizzers. LOL. I've got a basset puppy that does this when we've been gone for a while. What I've started doing is going to the back door where there isn't carpet and let them run outside. Saves a mess most times.

My cousins dachshund does that to!!! I was like going toward him with the intentions of teaching him to sit or something and then when I reached for him he started to pee on the carpet. Perhaps your fowardness frightens her..?

my beagle does it too the vet said it is because she is so excited. They recommended a doggy diaper you can buy from petsmart (if you get one use maxi pads they work the same if not better and are much less) get used to it, it doesn't go away but you gotta love them they are so excited to see you.

My poodle does that as well. They are excited and can't help it. Don't be mad, be glad she loves you so much she can't help but tinkle when she sees you.
