If he has had his first puppy booster shot/vaccination, then you should be okay to take him for walks around your block or to the nearby park. He's still young so keep it down to a minimal of about 15 to 25 minutes. I would say until he is done his full set of shots, keep him out of pet stores, shelters, or basically any place that has a lot of other animals. Other then that you should be fine, and socialization at this age is very important. You can also enroll him in a puppy obedience or socialization class where the other puppies will have their vaccinations as well. Good luck!

Ideally you should wait until he has completed his series of puppy shots before he goes anywhere that other dogs might also go. You could certainly allow him to play in your own yard and walk a little up and down the street in front of your house. Ten weeks is a little young to be going on long walks anyway, so no harm in waiting. He only needs that third and final set of puppy shots, you don't need to worry about the rabies shot before you take him out.
Once he does have that last set of shots, it is wonderful to get him out and around other people and animals. The more new places and faces they are exposed to, the better they will adapt to new situations in the future. This is important for all dogs. A well-socialized puppy will make an excellent adult dog. Check and see if there are any puppy classes in your area; this is a great way for your pup to play with other puppies and a great way for you to pick up training tips and talk with other puppy owners. Have fun with your shepherd, they are awesome dogs!

I think you can walk him when he has completed his distemper shots. You would not have to wait six months till he has a rabies shot for a walk with you.

ive taken my pup for walks. She doesnt like it very much though, she seems fine. I dont think it would hurt to take your pup walking, start off just walking short distances then increase it as they get older. i think its up to you, everyone says something different.
