If none of them actually make hair thicker or look thicker, how else can I do it?

No! Do not use Pantene! It has paraffin wax in it that completely murders your hair. I use Garnier Fructise in the bright green bottle. It works very well. Also Tresseme (sp?). It's cheap, and it works. Not to mention it smells awesome!

I haven't found a good volumizing shampoo.
However, Pantene's Sheer Volume Conditioner is the bomb!
Redken's CAT leave-in spray is pretty good too.
