God gave us free will because he doesn't force us to believe him. God didn't creae an alternative to being perfectly good, as you said. God created the devil, who was an angel who wanted to be more powerful than God. God was than forced to make the Devil his own home b/c God cannot live with sin. When Adam and Eve were tempted, it was by the devil. This was the first sin. When Jesus died it was so we, who were full of sin and,as I said earlier, could not live with Jesus, COULD live with him. BUT he also gave us a choice b/c he is kind and generous. He told us that we had to choose to belive him.

Creating the potential to sin is not the same as creating sin. It's not a perfect analogy, but if my 3-year-old does something wrong, does all responsibility fall to me because I produced her? Just because God made us and WE sin, doesn't mean God "made sin". That's what free will is truly about. We make the choice, we are responsible.

He created the ability within man to choose to obey or disobey. Sin is the result of man making the wrong choice. Surely you can understand that. If you fill a glass with milk and set it on the edge of a table, and give me the choice to drink it, or to knock it off onto the floor, and I choose the latter, who is responsible for the broken glass and spilled milk? Did you create the broken glass and spilled milk, or did I? Responsibility belongs to man for his willful disobedience. We can not blame the devil. Even though he was involved, he did not MAKE us do it. It is not God's fault, He merely presented us with a choice. The good news is, that even though we broke the glass, and spilled the milk, Jesus Christ has come to clean up the mess. He will clean yours up too, if you will let Him (again, free will is involved).

Do not base your beliefs on the 3 Abrahamic religions...the bible, torah, and quran are moral fables...not to be taken literally. The 3 books have historical information...but it includes supernatural explanations due to the biblical writer's lack of knowledge in science. Floods, earthquakes etc would have been interpreted as God's wrath instead of natural events...such as the historical account of Solomon and Gomorah.
Of course, the real answer is we will never know until we die. Personally, IMHO, I believe God created the universe and lets it run according to natural laws, such as the laws of science.

Sin is a illusion, it's cause is suffering from a case of mistaken identity. Just know your self and you will know God.

He gave us our free will and we keep using it sinful ways. Adam and Eve had it perfect, but they were humans. They were asked not to eat from the forbidden tree. But they did. And that gave them a knowledge of good and evil. And with the free will, we make a lot of bad choices.

Remember this at all times, Thine will is the opposite of mine will. Our free will just doesn't like to surrender to Thine will. Therein lies the battle, and so we go our own way in ignorance. He never created the notion that for us to turn from Him and wander away from Him was acceptable to Him.

Your argument is invalid. god didn't give us anything, he's imaginary. He was imagined by people thousands of years ago who were ignorant of any scientific principles. We're beyong that now, no more need for "god".

Sin is simply a product of our human frailty and ignorance. The stronger we become and the more we learn intellectually and spiritually, the less we sin.
