I have recently adopted a puppy from a friend, who got him from the Humane Society. His papers just say Terrier and he looks a lot like a Parson Russell Terrier, but his coat is grey/black, not white, which means he's not a Parson. What is he then? He is very cute and I just really want to know exactly what terrier breed he is, or if he is a mix, what breeds he is. Is there any way to tell for sure? Help, please?

The vet said that it's a terrier, which I could've told her myself, and she couldn't really tell me much more than that. He's not a cesky. There is a pic right here: www.myspace.com/_liza

Your dog is a mutt, and there is nothing wrong with that. Why try to assign him a breed? He's one of a kind, and absolutely adorable! Congrats of the new puppy, and yay for adopting!

okay! why does it matter. you adopt a little dog. you must have falling in love with it. and it may even be a mutt.and l know if it is a terrier of some kind it will be small and l know that you will love him because you already proved that by adopting it and taking it to the vet. so l wish you luck and what ever it is next year it won't matter to you either

There is really no way to know for sure. He might be a Parson mix, or anything really. You could do a lot of research, but even then you won't be positive. My guess is that he is a mix. But since he's a puppy, his coat color could change.

He looks like a mix to me. (but he sure is adorable!!)

I saw the photo; looks like it might be part silky terrier, mini pinscher, or part yorkie, and part Jack (Parsons) Russell terrier...

He is most likely a mix, but the vet would really know.

i think the best way to find out is when u go get its shots, you can ask the vet what breed they think it is. the vet most likely will no. best luck!
