If you catch someone staring at you even though you dated for a week, could there be some feelings......?

between me and that person? We had such an amazing time and he said so himself but one day he said that he just doesn't want to date anymore. Since he didn't tell me this in person, I called him to ask him what was up. He said that he thinks he likes someone else. If he liked someone else, he wouldnt be online trying to talk to me almost every night. How can you be sure if a guy can't make up his mind about what he wants? He said that we had fun and I think it was because we moved too fast and we barely knew each other. He said that he didn't get the point of a deep connection with me. Well what does that mean when you have only dated for a week? He also said that he wanted a relationship with me. How can I tell if this guy still has feelings for me, even though he doesn't want to show them?

If he straight tells you he might like someone else then he does. Or maybe just trying to get with both of you.
