Um, well, "rancid" is a term to describe the oxidation of oil, and the subsequent off flavor. Not sure it accuratley desribes intestinal gas.

Some foods are known to create more intestinal gas than others, esp. if you only eat them occasionally. This includes dry beans and peas, cruciferous veggies, and occasioanlly whole wheat items in large quantities. Other items such as eggs, which contain sulfur, can be espcially tear-jerking upon exit. Some foul gas can also be caused by slow-moving digestive tract or failure of the body to properly digest certain nutrients.
