They search airline websites as well as search engines (e.g. Orbitz, OneTravel, Travelocity, etc.).
I always use them; however, if you get a deal through them that's at Orbitz, if it's all on one airline, go to that airline's website, and see if it's cheaper there. There may be a difference of +/- $5-10.

Orbitz, travelocity, expedia. Personally though if she doesnt want to travel alone call an airline that you enjoy flying. I know that O'hare has many airlines that fly into arizona and they can have her as an "unaccompanied minor." I have personally used this service and a few airlines out of midway though. Midway has less congestion and would be the best airport to fly out of and to fly into. O'hare is the worlds 2nd busiest airport. Just for the info. I would look on the websites of southwest, united, american, delta, air tran, northwest. But make sure that you CALL THE AIRLINES. Do not try to book online. Make sure you call for the latest times, dates, and to make sure she doesnt travel alone. If it is a good airline, they will take care of it all.

Try Orbitz. And if she's ONLY 12 , she doesn't need to be flying alone.
