I am a Christian, but a couple of weeks ago I was in a hospital bed very sick, very frightened and wondering if I was going to live. I had no doubt in my believe of Jesus as my savior, but I just wasn't certain of what would happen to me if I died. I did a lot of soul searching and praying and now I am certain I know.
I had three visions during that first, long night in the hospital. The first vision was only a flash before my eyes and it left me with many questions. The vision was of a face, but I could not tell who it was. I asked if it was the devil and the reply of "No" I received was full of laughter. This vision left me restless and still questioning my assurance that I would go to heaven if I died.
The second vision I had was soft and light. I realized it contained an image of me. I could not see my face, but the back of my body. I was dressed in white. My hands lifted from my sides and then I looked upward and stretched my hands to the heavens. I saw that my heart was in my hands. Then I saw hands reaching down to meet mine. They were the hands of Jesus. He bent down and took my heart that I offered to Him and placed it along side His own heart. This vision gave me comfort in knowing that Jesus is my Lord.
Before I could think too long, a third vision appeared before my eyes. It was another image of me, but I was on the ground, dead. As soon as I realized this huge, beautiful, white wings filled my vision and then disappeared. These wings were of a creature that knelt before me and ever go gently picked me up in its arms and carried me up through the clouds. The creature placed me in the arms of Jesus. I was at peace.
I was a Christian for 12 years before I was placed at the face of death and made to truly draw on my faith. My faith tells me that heaven and hell are real and that I am going to heaven. The answers you seak will not likely come to you quickly. You must search yourself and develop your own faith in what you believe.

It is a frightening thing to all of us, and don't you believe when people say that they have never have been or will never be afraid.
The wonderfull thing about having faith in Jesus is that although our bodies will die we will live forever and this eliminates the fear within us. Knowing and believing in an everlasting life, that there is a future and a hope is very comforting. Even I as a christian have doubts an fears about death and dying sometimes but I am comforted in knowing that God is my hope.

Well, we have God's ultimate authority that Heaven and hell are real, Honey, so you need to make absolutely certain of your eternal destiny. Jesus is the ONLY way to be sure you will live forever. I have the assurance of Heaven, as does every other Christian on this forum and around the world. We are the only ones that have that blessed peace in our hearts. Jesus puts that there when you come to Him in repentance and trust Him as Saviour; putting your Faith in His death, burial, and resurrection from the dead.
Please email me if you want to talk more about it.
God bless you.

I don't think death is frightening as such.
pain, separation, sure. but even that is more... relative.
what makes you so sure that nobody knows?
what makes you so sure that nobody can "come back" from death? the essence of who and what you are, does continue after death, and it can communicate through certain means, and you DO come back for more than one life... and once in a while actually remember some, or can be helped to remember it.
Death is an important part of life. its a fundamental part... it makes things matter.

This is why you shouldn't live your life in a state of morbid martyrdom by dedicating it to a religion or God that is based on faith alone. You need to make the most of the life you are living. There is no proof in any after-life theories, however I believe that our soul minds live on and that our next incarnation is dependent on how we live this life. Kinda like a karma theory, what you do comes back on you threefold, and that is good and bad things and it determines your next incarnation.

Im actually a heck of alot more scared that it is true. Having to face God and his brethren and son? if you just die, thats it, nothing. that would be easier to deal with. But, anyway, I am glad that God is there and life will continue, forever!

"that would be scary if that happened"
No it wouldn't. It's only a scary thought now. If you really cease to exist altogether when you die, you won't be around to feel scared. You won't be around to feel anything, for that matter. There's really no logical reason to fear death if you look at it like that.

Yes, death is frightening especially in the sense that you do it alone.

I do not fear death, rather I only fear the punishment of my Creator. That is why I seek forgiveness in my prayers and protection from the fire.

If you ask Jesus into your heart, you don't have to be afraid anymore.
