Corn meal...is ground corn kernels,,,,in making corn muffins..corn breads...rolled cornmeal bacon ...for frying with eggs..


Corn starch is a fine powder like flour to thicken your gravies,or covering for deep frying as a coatting for fish swedish meat balls and such

Corn starch is finely ground corn meal I think. Because corn meal is thicker, some recipes call for it instead of corn starch. I don't know of a good substitute; sorry.

corn meal if finely ground corn usually with regular flour in with it. Corn starch is one of the 4 basic parts of corn. starch, germ, fiber and protein. The starch thickens and holds things together.

polenta, corn meal mush, cornbread, indian pudding, and breading stuff
whilst corn starch is a thickening agent
it lumps very easily
remember to always dissolve it in a little cold water
before using it to thicken something

corn starch= just starch from corn kernel; white and, well, starchy.

corn meal = ground up whole corn kernels; usually yellow, but can be white if white corn was used.
