There is a Futurama episode in which Fry wins Leela's heart with a simple note, "I love you Leela." Granted, the note was composed of about 50 stars, but that episode is an excellent example of my question. Is making a girl feel loved all it takes to get her to fall in love?

Ladies, is a stupendously grand gesture showing how truly and deeply a guy loves you enough to get you interested, even if it's a guy you never considered dating before... or even better, what if it's a guy you have actually rejected, or how about an ex?

If one of your good male friends kept asking you out and you kept rejecting him, then he somehow absolutely did the most amazing thing to show you how much he is madly, deeply and passionately in love with you, would you be impressed enough to consider going out on at least one date, or would you simply be freaked out?

So many people here answer this often asked question with a, "tell her." But is that REALLY a good solution, even here?

Umm... I'm not really asking for myself. This was a generic sort of question. But thanks for the encouragement anyway. Maybe I WILL tell her that I love her. LOL Even though she knows. Oh wait. TELLING her isn't enough! That's what I feel. She must KNOW that she is loved. And that's the difference between saying the words, "I love you" and proving it with a grand gesture. She's got to FEEL it. But is FEELING loved enough?

Wow! Yes, I would be quite impressed and yes enough to go out with him and I would be thinking why did I reject this guy in the first place. How super ROMANTIC! And yes, tell her is REALLY a good solution. There are lots of times that we women can't really believe a guy to fall so deeply in love with us because of past experiences, etc. Well, I hoped I helped a little bit.

I agree with the people who say "tell her" - if you don't, she might never even consider you as more than a friend.

But if she's said no...then telling her again, even in a spectacular way, is only going to seem obsessed. Sorry, but if she's not interested, there's really not much you can do to change her mind. Just move on and find someone else - maybe in a few years she'll see you in a different light.

Love is probably enough to get her attention, but it takes a whole lot more than love to keep her. The two may clash and have nothing in common. What good would love be then?

Hi,

I am a man but I can tell you one thing. Love is not some advertising gimmick you pull out of your magicians hat to dazzle and stun and to see if you can outdo everyone else and make some lady love you. It don't work that way.

Your approach is like grabbing her by the arm, and dragging her into the swimming pool whether she wants to go in or not. It just don't work that way.

In closing, your stupendously grand gesture will be out done by a single red rose with a little note every time, . . . .guarantee!

It really depends on the person. You cant make a person luv u tho no matter how hard u try. At least not without time and effort. I agree telling her would be the best way to go but maybe not always the right way. If u dont try tho theres really no way to no cuz like i said it differs from person to person.

Love conquers all — except me. If a guy claimed to be "madly, deeply, and passionately in love" with me, I'd run, not walk.
