Assuming that he knows you are a virgin, only you can decide when you are ready. Oh and by the way, most guys are really clumsy the first time, so you may want to take care of that little project on your own before you have sex with him. It will be a lot less painful. You could also have a doctor take care of it for you as well. But, I am assuming that you are old enough to see a doctor on your own without him telling your parents.
When you are ready, you will figure it out. Its not magic, but you will want it to feel that way.

just act sorta open about it, dont be shy about sex or else he will think you are afraid of it and that will send him really bad messages. be sorta more aggressive when you make out and stuff, most guys will know you are ready and bring it up themselves after that.

You dont need to ask (well it more depends on your age) get him alone (one of your bedrooms etc.) heg him horny and he'll do the job. Unless he isnt ready himself
