Hydrogen peroxide.

Lay a towel down on your bed or carpet. Then fill a dropper with 3% hydrogen peroxide (available at any drugstore). Lying on your side, fill one ear with hydrogen peroxide. After a few moments you will hear fizzing. Quite normal. After a minute or two, add more peroxide. Wait until the fizzing stops -- 5 to 10 minutes -- indicative that the wax has been dissolved. With a dry towel over your ear, turn your body over to the other side to allow the liquid to flow out. Use a Q-tip to remove any excess water left behind.

If you feel a "slushing" in your ear after the treatment, you probably did not give the peroxide enough time to completely dissolve the wax. This will feel quite uncomfortable but don't be alarmed! Try again.

Note: If you have holes in your eardrum, do not try this treatment.

"Ear candles" (beeswax or parafin tubes)! They're sold mostly at health food stores and whatnot. I've used those things for a couple years now..and they're super effective! They usually come in four-packs or individually (and have instructions) and I use 2 per ear. The whole process takes maybe an hour and is painless. Afterword I use peroxide on a q-tip to clean my ear out. Good luck! =)

I know the absolute BEST answer. Im not sure what state you are in, but in CA there is a store called GNC which has vitamins n' stuff. They have these tubes that you stick in your ear and then light up with a match. It warms up the tube and creates some smoke which goes in your ear. You ear begins to drain everything you have in there. I've tried it and many people i know have done it. It totally works. Good luck!!

Ear candles - they somehow draw the wax out of your ear. You light one end - there are instructions online or where you buy them.
You can also put mineral oil in your ear. Lie flat for an hour (watch tv) and then let it drain out. It will take the wax out.

To "Just Wondering1"-after I read your answer I was amazed that they have something like that at GNC.I don't know if you believe in home remedies, but when we were growing up if anyone of us had an earache my mom would use thin cardboard paper and roll it into the shape of a cone. She would then insert it into the ear that was aching and she would light the other end with a match. The fluid in the ear would evaporate with the heat and that would take care of the earache.Isn't that something?(Just wanted to share).

Just use a bobby pin. If you're even remotely competent it will work fine.

FYI - The ear candles have been proven ineffective, since they don't generate enough suction to pull wax or anything else from your ears. The last study I saw said they'd have to have suction stronger than your vacuum cleaner to do what they claim.

Hydrogen peroxide is what I use. Leave it in your ear for a few minuets, the wax "bubbles" then dump it out.

an over the counter ear wax removal kit works well. You can get then at any pharmacy or rite aid and they are not too expensive.

Ever think of sticking your head in the toilet and flushing it a few times? That might work.
