There is case law that says that you must comply with the officer commands. The window tint is visible to the officer before he stops you - if the officer sees something in plain view he is allowed to investigate. In addition to the window tint ticket, I would expect an obstruction charge and of course a vehicle impound.

I'd say he could ask you to put up your windows. It is probable that if your other windows are heavily tinted that the same holds true for your front windows as well.

There is nothing stopping him from asking you to do so. However, if he asks you to you can refuse to do it without your attorney being present.
If you do refuse, then watch out cause he will more than likely wait till you drive off and watch where you go and wait till you do roll your windows up. If he finds that they are illegally tinted, then he can site you cause he has already seen you driving.

I would think the answer is yes. Why couldn't he? Its no violation of your rights. If a cop pulled you over for having a light out, could he ask you to turn on you lights to double check? A cop can walk around your car after pulling it over to check it out. So I would think this is okay.

Yeah they can basically do what they want. If you don't he can arrest you for some piss-ant excuse and even if you are innocent you can spend the night in jail. Been there done that.

He can ask. IMO, and IANAL, but you don't have to comply, because that would be a search. However, he could detain you or otherwise be a pain in the ***.
