You can't catch a cold from your cat because the viruses are different. BUT...you can catch strep throat from a cat though it isn't all that common. They can harbor the streptococcus bacteria. Unless you are immuno-compromised or have recurrent strep throat I wouldn't be too worried about it.

I seriously don't think so. I have had a lot of cats and none of them have ever had a cold and I have had a lot of colds.

No the viruses causing your cat's "flu" are specific to the feline species and vice versa.

yes you can. I am allergic to cats and I had a little kitten named joan. When you have an allergy, your body fights back with biotics. I was holding my kitten and my biotics got spread on to her. a month later she got sick and died. I FELT SO HORRIBLE!!!!!
