I have a very sensitive scalp and am looking for a haircolor to cover my grays that will not hurt my sensitive scalp. I've used everything from Feria to the "sensitive" Loving care and each one has the same affect - they burn my scalp and leave me with welts and sores that sometimes bleed. I need something that is strong enough to cover my predominantly gray hair yet gentle enough on my overly sensitive scalp. Thanks!

I think you should go to a hair stylist and tell them how sensitive your scalp is. They'll pick out the gentle hair dye and try not to touch your scalp while their dying your hair.

you could pull your hair heavily thru a frosting cap--don't get a rubber one get a disposable one. take a nail file and file the point down on the frosting needle, (the disposable caps are loose so they don't hurt most people). put the color on just the hair pulled thru a cap--no color would be on your scalp. You could also try Roux color rinse--you can get it at Sallys Beauty Supply--it washes out every time you wash your hair, but it is about like putting water on your head--it has the same ph as water. Does a hair salon semi-permanent color work? Go to a salon that has a good quality like redken, matrix, framesi and be sure to tell the stylist how sensitive your scalp is.Semi-permanent color lasts about 6 weeks. Hope that helps. Good Luck

Definitely go to a hairstylist... if your scalp is that sensitive you don't want to be doing it by yourself! Good luck!
