This is a difficult question. That the climate is warming and humans are at least partially responsible is no longer under dispute (among scientists, anyway. The conservative media is another story). However, it still remains to be seen what exactly the effects of global warming are, and what they mean for us as a species.
So do I think global warming is reversible? Yes.
Do I think it is a simple matter of replacing light bulbs, car-pooling, and reducing carbon emissions? No. We still need more information on what the consequences of climate change will be, and what we can do to reverse them.
Added: I strongly recommend everyone here arguing against global warming actually take the time to read the IPCC report. As anyone who hasn't has no business arguing climate change in the first place.

we can do nothing to stop it or to change it.
whatever we do will be like trying to empty out the ocean with a strainer, and as we do not really know the consequences of any actions we take, we could just be contributing to some other more serious problem.
The earth has cycles. We currently appear to be in a warming trend. 30 years ago the scientists were warning us of the coming ice age and global cooling.
the data that the global warming proponents so strongly use to support their assertions is insigificant in duration and is quantity to draw long term conclusions.
when the local weater station cannot even predict the weather with anywhere near 95% accuracy 10 days into the future, why should i believe that predictions about the earth's climate 5,10,100 YEARS into the future are accurate!
cows, volcanos, forrest fires, lightining, and all the other natural sources of pollutants contribute more to the atmosphere than mankind. the sun is in a very violent stage right now, with massive sunspots and solar flares, isn't it likely that maybe have more to do with it than mankind's actions. Other planets in our solar system appear to be warming also (Mars, Saturn, even the once planet, Pluto is believed to be warming ever so slightly) and i really don't think our pollution is affecting them.
remember a few years ago, the ozone was the big scare, we all needed to buy SPF80 because otherwise we would be burned up by the radiation that was going to be washing over the populace. turns out the hole over Antarctica has shrunk, the ozone may not be vanishing and it was all hype.
weather patterns and climates change. we as mankind think that we can control it and are just deluding ourselves.
the earth will change, and survive, and mankind will learn and adapt. That is the way is has been and the way it will be.
as a side note, maybe it is just evolution occuring and those who survive will be the ones who are most able to withstand the changes. that would be a good thing, right? survival of the fittest and the best?

No. Soon as we elect a Democratic president, the media will stop talking about it.
Seriously, its a very complex situation. Global warming is not going to destroy the earth. A warm up with rising sea levels is very inconvenient, but the real threat is that it could eventually interfere with the thermal-haline circulation and trigger a new ice age. Life flourishes in warm periods and struggles in the cold.
We need to do all we can to curtail emissions even if the benefits will be marginal, since we also need to be conserving our energy resources. The two go hand in hand.
Ultimately, we will never have a "control" in this experiment to measure what benefits we get from the steps we take. We just need to do the best we can based on our overall understanding.

Well people aren't even sure that global warming is 100% fact. Some think that we cause it, some think that the earth just goes through this cycle naturally. Some even think that there is no global warming. The sun gives out heat in un-even waves. We may be at the very high tip of a wave which causes high temperatures and it should soon cool down. My opinion is we are probably causing it, and if we are it is to late. No government will ban cars for safer cars that let off less carbon dioxide. I even heard that a hydrogen car was made, running soley on hydrogen! No one will make such a huge change becuase it's too much work, and too much money is involved, and it can hurt the economy. So if we are causing it we are pretty much screwed. But other theories are interesting, so we can't just focus on the one that we are causing it. More research needs to be conducted.

We can all do our bit to help reduce global warming like switchingoff lights when not in use- use energy efficient ones instead ride a bike walk or pool transport so that there less car fumes to pollute the air.If each person on this planet in rich countries made a pledge to do their bit then this would make a huge difference to the world. If we all work together then it would help the world.Iwant a future for my grandchildren if any.Never say never. This is a defeatist attitude.

Probably. Even is it isn't a natural cycle, humans are only a part of the equation. There is a thing called the "overshoot effect", any process or systems builds up enertia and by the time the end is sensed "versoot" carries you over the cliff. Just like the Coyote. Michael

Yes, there is no saving the world from global warming. The cause is not humans. The cause is solar cycles that we have no control over. We are along for the ride. Al Gore and his movie are stupid. We are nothing in the overall scheme of things, we do not have the power to be the cause.

Almost certainly yes, it is too late. The best we can hope for is to slow down the process, but this will only happen if countries like the USA and China will will accept that there is a problem. China is the biggest problem in the world right now.

If u want me to believe u need to clean up your data. First it is CO2 and that is not true ,now it is methane and I cant prove that it is not but u cant prove that it is etc. The CO2 thing all environmentalist should be ashamed. Mother nature fix that a few million years ago when she introduced the plants which need CO2. So CO2 was not a problem and will not be . That includes all plants from trees to algae. So anybody that knows mother nature will not buy this.

it's a bit late for that question I think. We'd better try to find a way to fix the damage done. But keep up every good bit that helps!
