Sometimes you can scratch your mouth with something like a chip or it can be caused by sour foods. It could also be a swollen gland from some type of infection in your body. I get swollen glands all the time and actually just had one "on the roof of my mouth" about a week ago and it's just recently gone back to normal. Unless it persists, it's probably harmless! =)

Have you been eating nachos or corn chips? If so maybe you scratched the roof of your mouth. This happens quite commonly and can cause a bump or sore a day or two later. These bumps usually resolve quickly. You didn't mention your age or whether you smoke. If you are past age 30, smoke or chew tobacco and haven't been eating chips, then see your physician because mouth cancer is not something you want to mess around with.

I get that once in a while. Usually after eating a Dorito that stabbed the roof of my mouth and it swells.

Mouths heal faster than any other part of the body. It should go away pretty quickly. If not, then it might not be the Doritos that did it.
