Check out something on Ebay called DAZZLE DIGITAL VIDEO CREATOR, there are several versions, I personally use the model #80. The idea is basically very, very simple, which is the beauty of it. You keep a VHS or combonation VHS/DVD player hooked up to your PC thru the Dazzle digital video creator.
When your ready to turn a Movie into a digital file, simply remove the Tape from your camcorder, insert it into the video player system which is hooked up to your PC, and start the Software Prgram that comes with the Dazzle video Creator. (Program is made by Pinnacle systems called: Studio V9.0) You should find it now very easy to transfer from your video player to your PC's hard drive very easy, and it gives you the option of making the finished Movie Product an MPEG, AVI, and several other choices.
Although I have made everything sound simple, there ARE some minimum computer requirements that you should be aware of,
starting with your USB ports on your computer...if your running V1.0 USB Ports, you will need to purchase v2.0 Ports so you can transfer VIDEO thru the USB cord that runs thru the dazzle creator. I Highly recommend this system, and the support from pinnacle is second to none!
