It's eve's fault becaust she gave Adam an apple. A problem with this is if God made them perfect why did they sin. the whole story sounds bogus. If Christians believe this then they must believe in Ancient Mythology. And if you try to tell a christian that God created sin then all hell will break loose with a torrent of bible passages and dooms day warnings. The only answer to that is Yes God Created Sin Because He wouldn't have been able to give us free will if there was no alternative to being perfectly good.

Passage Exodus 34:14: Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.
Maybe God would be jealous if you were immortal as well.
An Atheist might provide a better answer: Every time a cell reproduces there is a chance for an imperfect clone of that cell. Over time that leads to our demise.

The gnostics {knowers} say the fall was due to the seemingly split of the ONE into two. I think it says in one of the gospels that the flesh can not inter the kingdom of heaven. Jesus said " The kingdom of heaven is with in you". Anyway the real can't die as it was never born.

The Bible equates sin with death. Not just that death is punishment for sin, but that sin itself causes death in the sinner - spiritual death immediately, followed by eventual physical death. The implication is that Adam and Eve would not have experienced death if they had not sinned.
