I have thin straight hair. Here's what works for me: volumizing shampoo (and I really haven't found any one that works much better than any other - I've tried everything from Big Sexy Hair to the new Herbal Essences stuff), then condition just the ends. Towel/air dry until almost dry, then add a volumizer or hair thickener (I use one by Nolita, but there are several out there). That seems to help a lot!
As far as cut, try to keep it shoulder length or shorter. Have a few layers put in for movement, but not too many or it will start to look shaggy. Do not let them use a razor on it! I've found that just causes split ends on fine hair. Finally, dyeing your hair can make it thicker (actually it damages the cuticle and that rougher edge makes the hair seem thicker).
Good luck! Fine, straight hair can be a pain in the neck, but it you learn what works for you it can be very pretty!

The cut should depend on your face shape. Please get to a professional beautician to do this. I know if your hair is thin and straight your hair length should not be too long like below your shoulders. Get the right shampoo and conditioner that goes for the type of hair you want. Not sure get to a Beauty Supply Store like Sally's. If none in your area get to the aisle of the store like Wal-Mart, Wal-Green's, CVS or any such place and start reading on the bottles. I know that Tressemme Products have a good Voluming Shampoo and Conditioner and other products to go alone with it but its your choice. Good Luck!

yeah i have the same problem also. like the other gals said, get the right shampoo, hair cut etc...
well, i have my hairs layered which helps with putting in volume. Yeah, my hair does not poof up usually also, except one thing. After i take a shower and my hair is damp, i put on mouse (esp at the roots) and i blow dry with my head down so that the hair is just dangling from your scalp.

I had the same problem...so i cut my shoulder length brown hair down short and colored it with a reddish blond color. I used a product for locks and twists on my scalp and my hair has since grown back in thicker

My hair is like that too. My advice is to go to the hair salon and get your hair cut in layers. Then after you get your hair cut flip your head over and fluff up hair your with your fingers.

i got the same thing, but i usually put my hair up. when i put it down, every one says it looks pretty. you should try putting ur hair up. plus, if you use conditioner too much it'll make ur hair thinner.

If it's really thin, then you should keep it short. You can also crimp it.
