Fish sauce is actually made from fish (the liquid is extracted through a salting and fermentation process) and is used a lot in Vietnamese and other southeast Asian cuisines. Try http://www.adoptvietnam.org/vietnamese/recipes.htm for some recipes.

Like kimchi in Korea and cheese in the West, it is one of those foods that stinks terribly but tastes great.

Fish Sauce has an awesome flavor but it's really salty. So use to taste.

put it on unripe mangos lol but use sparingly it tastes good
