Naw, it's been around a lot longer than that. It is a mutant of cabbage but that happened centuries ago.There are actually several veggies all in the same family, including rapini, broccolini, cauliflower, and cabbage

Yep, the guy lived next-door to the guy that invented cheese...It was inevitable that they would discover that both things went together... Over beverages, I imagine...
