A friend of mine is really trippin on a lot of things..and it's getting worse..she can't calm down..the more she worries, she tends to get a tad bit of nausea..she doesn't want to eat..she can't sleep because she worries, worries, worries! I don't know what she did to cause her to act like that, but that does cause you to get sick, doesn't it?

Yes it does. And it's not healthy to be that anxious, nervous and on edge. Makes the heart beat faster, blood pressure rise, muscles tense, etc. Not to mention what it does to you mentally. She could probably use an anti-anxiety medication. Maybe temporarily during this stressful time. She should see a doctor.

As a retired mental health practitioner with 20+ years experience, I can assure you that S H's answer is accurate. Some stress is okay, and even necessary in order to live a fruitful life, but, as in any other matter, too much of a good thing can be bad. The American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) categorizes these matters in the Somataform Disorders category. People often call them psychosomatic disorders, and they are physical ailments that are not attributable to any particular medical problem, but can be predictably matched with psychological stressors. Typical areas of such stress are the stomach, head, lower back and heart. I learned decades ago that the President of the United States markedly ages as he works through his four or eight years of service in the White House. You can look at sequential photos of former Presidents Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, and now George W. Bush, and their appearance shows greater aging than that with typical persons over the same time period. That's the reason, among others, why the President and Vice-President is given such close medical attention over the term of his Presidency. So, resting and relaxation are a vital part of life, as necessary as eating well and getting some exercise. I hope your friend can relax a bit, or she'll pay the price medically later. God Bless you.

Worrying too much can get you sick. Possibly a mental illness and stuff. Depression and stress are parts of it, high blood pressure too. If she gets nervous a lot of times, then maybe she should eat celery. Celery has healing properties and it might help her. I gave some people celery and it calmed them down. It helps nervousness. I did research on many things and I found this out on the internet. Maybe she should get a therapist or something and get relaxed. Remember, breath in and breath out. Maybe she'll need sleeping pills or something.

I speak from experience: Excessive worrying can cause you to spiral down into a depression and panic. Sleeping and not eating are classic signs of depression. She can help this now if she goes to the doctor and gets medication. I didn't go to the doctor because I didn't know what was happening to me. I wish I had known back then what I know now. Get her help before she spirals down any further. She won't be able to dig herself out now without a doctor's help.

Worrying = stress
Stress = sickness/illness which can even result in death.

Stress is a killer of health. Eliminate it or it will eliminate you (or her, in this case).
