Generals teell him it won't work, he shuffles his generals so that the leading ones now support his ideas. The citizens of the U.S. tell him that they are fed up, he pretty much says screw you. Both Democrats and Republicans in the New Congress say this is a bad idea, he says we need to make "sacrifices" in order to succede. How long before he sets up a dictatorship?

Cwebb: I believe the Taliban is in Afganistan, the war with an actual cause which I fully support. Iraq isn't a war, it's a big bloody mess

All of them. He only has the support of 12 of the 49 Republican Senators for his increase in troops.

Iraq is a side show. A side show that distracts and dwarfs the real danger. Afastigian is the real war. If there is another terrorist attack on the USA it will come from Al Queada. You can bet Osama is laying low and planning something right now. It won't come from Iraq they are to busy killing each other right now. They just want us out so they can settle down to it. A friend showed me the Saddam hanging video on line today. No one deserved it more since Hitler. But it was a lynching not a formal execution. It amounts to pouring gas on a wildfire. As for a troop surge, what troop surge? We are sending about 20,000 good combat troops to play firemen. Change the generals if you want, it won't work without a complete change in tactics and even then it probably won't at this point.

Here's the deal: Until you know what is REALLY going on over there, don't be so harsh. You asked a rhetorical question. Obviously you're going to get answers/comments against what you said. In fact, I'm sure that's why you asked it in the first place.

My brother is over in Iraq right now. Almost all of the men and women that are there WANT to be there. I've met many soldiers and their families, they're proud to stand for what they believe. They are part of something so much bigger than the media would like us to believe.

Go ahead and rip on Bush. It's your opinion. Before you start spewing about what a mess this whole thing is and how the U.S. is such a disgrace, think of the brave men and women who are in the Middle East proudly fighting for this great nation of ours. Fighting so people like you can say what's on your mind.

Just a reminder for CWebb and others with the same mind-set:
-Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9-11
-Taliban are in Afghanistan
-If 'shock and awe' didn't work then, why will a 'troop surge' work now?

Try thinking for yourself for a change.

Hey leogirl, is the president a millitary strategist? Did he go to war college? NOO. So he needs to stop making decisions by himself that lead to more poeple dieing.

I expect that President Bush will ignore people like yourself and listen only to people who have enough background to be able to discuss military operations and strategy.

What makes you think that your political opinions make you qualified to comment on military strategy?

Apparently he'll ignore everyone but Laura & Barney. I agree about the "shuffling" of military leaders, he's picking ones who will support him.

Whaddaya mean `how long till he sets up a dictatorship`???? The phony, lying sonofabitch has already done it. The only thing he will ever pay attention to( other than his scumbag buddies) is the one priveleged enough to place the noose over his lying phucking neck.
