Usually no-it may be a source of conflicts with your architect and/or the trades causing the construction costs go up, but please consult with your architect and ask for a referral, if applicable. Good luck.

As a contractor who works with them on a daily basis I'd have to say yes. However if you're on a budget I would recommend finding a student a local art college rather than looking in the phone book.
More often than not a good interior designer can make rooms seem larger and more inviting and useful. They can pick and choose furniture that fits in a room and accompanying colour pallettes.
Be prepared, they will make you crazy. Look at their portfolio and /or ask to speak with satisfied customers before signing any contract.

If you are building a normal house then no. Interior designers tend to pick out the most expensive fabrics and furniature. If you are building a large house and plan on having a lot of entertaining (Formal parties) then it would be worth it. Remember a lot of fabrics that they use are not kid friendly.

nicely, some human beings hire indoors designers because of the fact of keep the time and funds, so seek for a expert designer who works with different purchasers such as you -- somebody who's prepared and in a position to artwork on your words. in spite of each thing, it is your place. while you're actually not delicate with the designer, you in all probability heavily isn't delicate with the outcomes. So there are a number of many on line web pages which could tutor you ways to very lots relating to the interior layout like, 99designs, Crowdspring, Designhill, and so on.

are you building with an architect or a builder? each have their own interior designers typically, associated with their firms.
Hiring an outside interior designer isn't necessary unless you really want to, and really want to spend the money!

If you have no sense of decorating, I would say yes. Or if you simply want a particular look and feel, I would say yes.
You can do it yourself but an interior designer will add the touch of a pro.

probably not a bad idea, but you have a head on your shoulders, use it!!! go to the library, or online, for books on decorating, etc...and study..make notes, pull pictures out of magazines that catch your eye as to color, types of furniture, lighting, etc, and make an "Our Home" scrapbook..in time you will both find the types of things that appeal to you and this will help you in selecting and purchasing those things you want in your home...just remember; light things make something look big, and dark things make something look small...learn to use a color wheel to see which colors are monochromatic, complimentary, etc....once you start, you'll be glad you did and when you finally start making your purchases, whether it be paint, furniture, etc. you will be very proud that you did it yourselves...but do study and learn basic things about color, light, shadow, furniture placement, etc...and do it a little at a time..good luck and have fun!!!

If you have the budget for it.
You could consider paying one an hourly rate for guidance while shopping and planning. That would be less expensive than them doing the entire job.

It depends on your budget, your age, and your experience with these things.
I would order some magazines and get some inspiration at least before you call somebody.
