It would depend on how religious and whether or not they could accept my atheism. I probably would not date someone who always wanted to "save me" of course. It really doesn't matter because my wife won't let me date anyone; religious or not.

If the atheist in question is not a "fundamentalist" but open to talk with others of various beliefs and faiths about general dating questions along with more serious ones of an appropriate nature (not let's say about having children if it's only the first or just a few dates) then why not date a "religious" person. Dating opens more doors for you, and it's not marriage, though it may lead to it of course. Ultimately, being more open minded than not probably makes dating others of any belief (including atheists) more fun and offers more learning & enjoyment than not, at least in my view.

I suppose, but it would be tough. I mean, it's a fundamental belief, and would be like dating someone who thinks knifing cats is fun. You might think the person is cute and funny, but that cats bit would hang over your head all the time. I suppose if everything else about them was perfect, I could overlook it. I'd try to talk some sense into them though.
And for the imbecile who complained about the incorrect spelling of "atheists", you spelled "imbecile" wrong.

Yes, just so long as she didn't believe everything any preist had ever told her. The question is less about someone who is religious and more about whether or not she has a brain and can think for herself.

I have before. It depends on how religious they are. I couldn't date a biblical literalist. I certainly couldn't date someone who abstains from sex before marriage. I won't date someone who does have sex before marriage but allows their religion to make them feel constantly ashamed about it.
Unless she's really hot, of course.

Considering there are fewer of us, thus a bit harder to find one ya like...yeah. Though the possibility and longevity of a relationship would really depend on the person and the couple.

I have in the past. Not sure I would again - there was always something that bugged me about the way they couldn't seem to follow basic logic, or wanted to disbelieve it. Unsettling.

Personally, I don't care if the person I date is religious or not. as long as they respect my few beliefs, and don't try to force me to convert, I'm okay with that.

For sex ...
Seriously, also for love. My wife is religious and I am not. We have had some issues over it but we have managed to work things out.

I almost married a Christian girl. She tried to convert me three years into the engagement, three months before the wedding.
