A mutt. They care usually more friendly because they are not inbred. And you can save on from a shelter

I have a Bichonpoo (Bichon Frise & Poodle). I would say that this is the best kind of dog. She is small at 5 months weighs 6 pounds won't weigh more than 10/12 pounds full grown. Very smart, easily trainable. Very mellow, sociable loves everyone and all other animals. Beautiful personality, real sweetheart. Hypoallergenic, non-shedding. Very cute see her picture at left, on my 360 and at www.dogster.com/?449726.

I think it isn't a breed but the dog that clicks with you the best. I never go looking for a breed (although my favourite is german shepherds) but for the right personality traits. I look for a dog that is attentive and watchful, friendly but not necessarily outgoing, I don't look for colour or size, but I believe that if it's the right dog then thats that. You either know or you dont.

The best kind of dog is one that suits your activity level first, followed by hair maintenance next.
Why? Matching the activity level is crucial between dog and owner, and then the time spent on maintenace is important to consider if you are getting a high maintenance kind of dog.

I wouldn't recommend a specific breed, because all breeds have pros and cons to them. Consider whether you want a small, medium, or large dog. Also consider temperments, grooming, and everything thing else. I would recommend doing some research on various types of breeds. You can find a lot of information on the internet, and especially in many dog breed books. It all depends on you and your family and lifestyle.

Well I have a Toy Poodle and she's the best. Poodles are good for those who have allergies, because poodles are one of those dogs who don't shed at all unless you brush them right after their bath. Toys are good cause their small and easy to handle. But they have that fur that you need to brush everyday so their fur would keep in good shape and so ticks can't make eggs in the knots. But besides that, their very friendly and cute!

I'd say mix breeds, just because they can have so many different personalities. Pure bred dogs can get inbred, and after awhile the whole breed goes chaotic. I do have to say that I like St. Bernards, though

Newfoundland dog. They are loving, gentle amazing with kids, make wonderful therapy dogs and excel in water and are used for water rescue and on fishing boats they can be protective only when necessary and are big couch potatoes all their life. Everyone should have at least one.

I love English springer spaniels, as I own two of them. Although, they are extremely energetic and will destroy your house if they don't get to run outside or swim enough, they are always happy to see you and are very affectionate dogs. Also, they are intelligent and if you do it right withl lots of praise, very easy to train. Oh, and during the summer it's always very fun to watch them swim. :D
