It's better that you did that then lead the mother and child on for a long time. Not everyone is fit to join a ready made family.

Well for you it was obviously right and I guess that is all that matters. You should have thought about that before you got involved rather than make her think you were ready to take on such a relationship.
At least you left rather than tried to stay and separate mother from child as some low lifes do. You should be commended for being honest and upfront.

Well, since your not a father, no I don't think its wrong. You owe nothing to the daughter... Your just not ready for a kid. Read some of the books about what some bastard stepdads do to their partners kids. I know which one Id rather be.

you've got to make up your own mind. if you can't stand the pressure of having a child then you can't date a girl who has one, but some people may have pushed through as the girl was amazing and you needed to be with her, but if she wasn't special enough to put up with some negatives then it would have ended sometime anyway

No, it's not wrong.
Realistically, the kid is not yours and thus not your responsibility.
And you are not ready to be a dad.
Sounds like you have a good soul and want to do the compassionate thing, but it would be more compassionate to move on than do something half-heartedly.

Not wrong.
Sometimes relationships just don't work out, and you don't need to feel any guilt over it unless you did something wrong (cheated, lied, etc.)
Learn from the past and move on.

No. If you didn't feel like you could make the relationship work, then you were right to get out of it.

No. If you are not ready for such responsibilities, then it best to break up. IF the child is not your child.
