I have a cage about one meter in height and about 35cm and I was wondering how many budgies I could fit in the cage.

A budgie is a parakeet!

That cage would only be big enough for one or two budgies, and you would have to let them have a LOT of free flying time out of the cage.

One meter high might seem really big but it is only 35cm wide and the width is the most important part. The longer and wider the cage the better, as budgies tend to spend almost all of their time in the highest part of the cage.

You can have one of each gender, as budgies will only breed if you give them a nest box. You could also have both males as they get along well. Two females is also a possibility although they tend to be less active and play less.

I would also like to point out that budgie are flock animals and almost all budgies will get along with each other. I have 5 budgies (3 females and 2 males) in one cage and they have never fought. So don't stress about what sex budgies you get.

Good luck and make sure you do a lot of research before you get any birds! They are a large commitment and require a lot of specialized care.

Quakers and senegals could be loud. are not getting a Aratinga conure (sunlight, jenday), as they are VERY loud. in case you get a conure, get a green cheek conure (Pyhurra conure, the quiet variety). you ought to no longer get a great parrot, they are all very loud, needy, messy, costly, and not common to look after. i could get a green cheek conire if I have been you. :D
