I am the very proud aunt of two precious young boys, 13 and 2, and a very cute, but lactose intolerant, little 7-year-old girl. I was just wondering if anyone could suggest a few child-friendly, tasty, lactose (dairy)-free snacks/foods that I could prepare for my niece when she comes over for a visit.

Ham sandwiches are assembled then dipped in an egg mixture and toasted or grilled.
INGREDIENTS:
12 slices firm white or rye bread
prepared mustard
6 thin slices cooked ham
6 thin slices cooked chicken or turkey
6 thin slices Swiss or American cheese
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
black pepper, to taste
3 tablespoons butter
PREPARATION:
Spread each slice of bread with mustard. Make 6 sandwiches using 1 slice of ham, cheese, and chicken for each. Combine eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Melt butter in a skillet over low heat. Dip sandwiches in the milk-egg mixture, turning to coat each side. Brown in pan.

Barbecue Chicken Sandwiches
Cook the amount of chicken or use leftover chicken. Place the amount of barbecue
sauce you need to cover the chicken.Warm in a saucepan or the microwave. Serve
on bread or hamburger buns.
Note: To make this dairy-free, use homemade BBQ Sauce or use safe BBQ Sauce
(Lea & Perrins is the only one out there that I know is safe) if your diet is dairy-free.
Use bread or buns that are safe.

Chicken or Turkey Sandwiches
Cook the amount of chicken you desire. Mix salad dressing or mayonnaise with the
chicken. Season with salt, seasoning salt, or pepper. Serve on bread or hamburger
buns.

Note: To make this dairy-free, buy salad dressing and tuna that are labeled "Pareve",
and use bread or buns that are safe.

Tuna Fish Sandwiches
Use the amount of tuna fish you need. In a bowl, place tuna in bowl and add enough
salad dressing to make it creamy. Mix well. Add chopped up pickles; if desired. Serve
on bread or hamburger buns.

Note: To make this dairy-free, buy salad dressing, and tuna that are labeled "Pareve",
and use bread or buns that are safe.

Soy yogurt, granola bars. But read the label, lots of granola bars are loaded with sugar. Fresh fruit is always a good option. Applesauce, with cinnamon, animal crackers. Those are the things I give my 2 year old kids.

Another thing I just thought of - "ants on a log" - take a piece of celery and fill the groove with peanut butter. Line up some raisens on top of the peanut butter. Healthy, crunchy and tasty. Peanut butter is also good with carrots and apples.

I used to love peanut butter and marshmellow in a Ritz cracker sandwich.

Jello
Carrots or cucumbers
Dole fruit cups
apple slices with peanut butter to spread on it
celery with peanut butter or cream cheese with raisins on top
applesauce
tortilla warmed up with pb or cheese (quesadilla)
chips and salsa

Um, wow, I never realized how hard it is to think of healthy lactose free things to feed kids. I gave a couple different options with cheese, I know, but they are similar to the non dairy suggestions. Have fun and enjoy your time.

The Philippines is probably safer than most places in Europe. Manila is a sprawling asian city, but is worth a day or two. Go to Intramuros the old walled city, and perhaps do day trips to Corregidor Island and the Taal Volcano. What you do beyond that outside of Manila kind of depends on what you like. I love the sea, beaches, fishing, and diving. I enjoy Busuanga/the Calamianes the most out of any of the small island groups.

my 4 year old & 7 year loves "Ant's on a Log"
Peanut Butter on Celery, then put rasians on it in a row - it's a fun treat and fun to make.

Kids love lunchables just get some of those and gummys for snacks

fruit Kabobs. I've learned that if I let my kids put their fruit on a toothpick, or skewer...they'll eat it! and dip in cool-whip which is dairy free.

maybe something like hotdogs or steamed broccoli with loctose free cheese (which sometimes doesnt always taste good tho)

some ricekrispies treats,you can even use different cereals.smores,but use semisweet chocolate
