It depends on the types of products you are using after washing your hair. Do not use moisturizing shampoo or conditioner, or any thing that has any kind of oil or end with CONE (dimethicone etc.)in them because they build up very fast leaving a greasy feel and look, instead use hydrating products more water base.

I also have the problem of greasy hair which I think is a pain but the way I have found to tackle the problem is to use a light shampoo and conditioner. Really scrub hard with your nails and rinse well after shampooing and conditioning spray cold water over your hair for as long as you can stand this will give your hair a good rinse and a shiny thick appearance try not to run your fingers through you hair either .

Try to use a clarifying shampoo, and avoid styling products for a while. If you have hair that is long enough learn how to do a "french braid" and do that while your hair is damp, then avoid touching it. You might also want to make sure that you aren't eating a lot of greasy foods, or going into an area where greasy foods are cooking (like fast food joints) Your hair might just be really absorbant (if it is a fine texture that is probably the case)

My fine hair started doing a lot better when I started wearing it in short 'wash and wear' styles and stopped worrying about it.

i have this problem and i use a dry shampoo through the day because mine gets greasy by the end of the day too. You can buy it from boots and you spray it on. I dont know effect it will have on the condition of your hair it hasnt done mine any harm but it does sort greasy hair out until you can get home and wash it. Good luck x

First remember it is not your hair, the grease comes from the oil off of your scalp.

Try using a dandruff shampoo instead of shampoo for oily hair. (The drier your scalp the more your body will try to compensate, dandruff shampoos help to cleanse and calm the scalp)

Second, shampoo twice using warm water & use your fingertips, not nails, to thoroughly rub & massage your scalp. Final rinse should always be in cool water. If you use conditioner, use small amount and rub it in your hands like lotion, then apply only to ends of hair, not to the scalp.

By rinsing in cool water you help to close up the hair follicle this will also help to reduce the amount of oil produced.

Do not use any styling products such as pommade, or mousse it will only make your hair appear oilier faster. Use light styling gel and/or hair spray if needed.

Hope this helps.

you are probably over conditioning your hair. I know that its really nice for your hair to be super soft after you put a load of conditioner in, but thats what is contributing to the greasy hair. You should only put conditioner in from the back of your neck down to the tips. I hope this helps

wash in a gentle shampoo then when rinsed, hang head over wash-hand basin filled with some diluted clear vinegar and warm water - this will naturally de-grease and remove and buildup on scalp and hair follicle. Finally rinse off with water.

I'm sure when I was younger, people said to put talcum powder in it...

Although I would suggest a lovely conditioning treatment at the hairdressers and a haircut.. or a holiday!
