Don't doo that. Get some ceramic tiles at lowe's. The cheap ones are about a dollar a square foot. some grout , and some masonary board. it shouldn't cost over 2 dollars a square foot, if you do it yourself. If you have 15 ft of counter space x the width which is usually 2 ft, that is 30 sq ft x 2 60 bucks, plus you'll need to bye a tile cutter, They're about 15 dollars for a cheap one. You definately will get more for your house. The kitchen is a big selling point in a house, you don't want to make a big mistake and turn off all those buyers.

I would not use vinyl tiles on a countertop - they probably would melt when you put something hot on them - try going to a home improvement store and the counter tops come in one piece and a multiple of colors - good luck!@~

Vinyl's not really the best choice because it gets cut and dented easily, and it's also not very attractive. You could probably use some cheap laminate, though.

Don't do it!!! You'd be better off leaving them alone, even if they ARE gold.
If you're selling the house, you should do something very nice or nothing at all. Don't make it worse by doing something tacky.

I think it would look way to cheap and would keep lifting off counter surface.
