Well speaking from experience. Older people usually go after the younger because they can shape mold and manipulate situations. If he really cared about you he would understand that the bond that you have with your parents is not to be broken and these are your parents wishes. My mom use to always tell that "When you do not listen to your parents, you always get hurt" and I am here to tell you that it is absolutely true. I know you dont have the experience to want to listen but as your life progress you will think about all the things that you could have avoided if you had just taken the time to listen to an adult that truly love you without any motive.

That's not really a good idea...I nearly got involved with someone about six years older than me (I'm about 17, was 15/16 at the time) and now, I am glad that I didn't get into a relationship with him. Just be careful.

Your parents are only looking out for you. I was 15 when I met my husband and he was 22 and we were married for 20 years. So it worked out for us. We just couldn't live together anymore. But now I am dating someone 22 and I am 35 and it is working just fine. But don't listen to all those others that are saying he is only in it for the sex that is not always true.

You should not stay with him. He is too old for you and may take advantage of you, whether you realize it or not. That's probably why your parents disaprove. The fact that you're asking this question suggests that you are not totally connected to this guy. You don't need to stay with him, find someone around your age.

Soon it won't matter. Your a minor, and he will be in jail. Nice going. You ruined this dudes life because you wouldn't listen to your parents. Not to mention HE is a pedophile. A normal 23 year old doesn't go with a SIXTEEN year old!

Yes, your parents should talk to him, see what his intentions really are. I always had bf's older then me, and the relationships never lasted that long, older people share a different enviroment, and friends, so I think you should find someone your age, that can share what you're going through right now.

He is just after some young tail. Your parents will probably end up pressing charges on him, at the least. If you would my daughter I would beat the **** out of him, call the cops, and ground you for life.

I do not want to be judgemental but if my 16 year old daughter had a 23 year old boyfriend he would be in big trouble.Either from the law or from me personally.I wonder how you would feel if you had a daughter who was in the same situation??Sorry, not to sound like an old fuddy duh but I do not think that is right.
