The cost can be as your budget determines. I have heard of very simple weddings that cost a few hundred bucks to lavish weddings that top a hundred grand. Go for what makes you happy.

If you keep it simple (maid of honor, best man) and don't spend a fortune on a dress. you can do it fairly inexpensively. But it depends... do you have to rent the church, a hall? do you want it catered? If so even with budgeting figure about $5000. If you know someone who has a large place they would be willing to donate for the wedding and/or reception that will bring down costs. If you do a family type potluck for the reception that could help too. That's what I did and mine w/ dress and all came in at $1000, but that was 20 yrs ago, so figure $2500 now. And I did make my dress, which saved $200.
It just goes up from there depending on how elaborate you want to get. Or you could just elope and then have a reception afterward... if you can get away with it that is.

The way to get a dollar figure for the cost of a wedding is to ask a wedding planner exactly how much he or she can accomplish a wedding a whatever else you want along with it.
Even if you went bare minimum and got married at city hall, the price varies from city to city.

You're asking for a dollar figure but unless we all actually lived where you do and saw everything that you want it's impossible to give you a dollar amount. It depends on the dress, photographer, tuxes, rings, reception, flowers...it all depends on how fancy you want it..if you want over the top fancy then in the thousands, if you're going plain and simple then I'd say a couple thousand.

I own a country club and handle all the wedding planning for the club. Ths cost of the reception portion of your wedding will vary greatly depending on the number of guests you invite. If you invite 50 people to your reception it will be half the cost as if you invited 100 people, since you have to feed all of these people. If you want to limit your expense, limit your guest list.

I spent about $15,000 on my wedding and it was beautiful, I spent less on things that were not that important to me and a lot on the things that ment more. Indoor wedding no prepaid bar.

My cousin spent about $15,000 on her out door wedding and an open bar

My sister is planning her wedding and she is at about $25,000, my opinion is that is way too much money.

You make it what you want, what you can afford. Good Luck, hope this helps.
