and the bridesmaids are wearing dark brown dresses, what should the groomsmen wear? 70's style powder blue or chocolate brown tuxedos with matching ruffled shirts? or is it ok for the guys to wear black tuxedos?

Black tuxedos are just fine with brown dresses. You can do a web search, but I've seen pictures of very elegant wedding parties where the gals wore dark brown dresses and the guys wore black tuxes with dark brown vests. It looked good!

I would go with the chocolate brown tuxedos with light blue ruffled shirts. It sounds like it will be a beautiful wedding. Good-luck!

They shouldn't wear black because it wouldn't go with the light blue/dark brown theme. Brown and black don't go together. Powder blue tuxedos....I'd say no. Definately, no. Dark brown would be your best bet. Oh, and if they are gonna wear brown suits, make them wear white underneath. But, that's just my opinion.

That is a beautiful color choice.

Please do not make the men wear anything with powder blue or brown.
The classic tux is a great look for all men and is the most classy choice. It goes with whatever the women are wearing.
You don't want to look back on your wedding and say "Why did i make them wear powder blue ruffles ?" No ruffles, no blue.

Black goes with ANYTHING! However, see if you like the combination by looking at magazines, or on the internet.

May I suggest a more neutral color: white tuxedoes with your accent colors-then you wouldn't have to worry about black and brown...

eww...go black...brown or blue would be ugly for tuxs and i guarantee you'll regret it. thats why I would never do brown as a wedding colour. too hard to match the tuxs. black doesnt really go well either, but its a heck of alot better then brown.

have the guys match the girls in color - both dark brown. Don't put them in powder blue -- and black shouldn't be done with brown dresses. :)

def black with light blue ties or shirts. you dont want to over kill you primary colours. brown and blue are stunning together!

enjot your day and may you have many happy memories.

oh,a nice something for the weddingday. it's expensive, but worth it. give every table a disposable camera to take pictures of you and the guest. you can get amazing photos that the photographer didnt. just make sure they give it to you after the ceremony!
