Interesting that you know more about me than I know about myself.

Don't let NASA find out about your great intellect. They might kidnap you and force you to work for them.

Actually not a single one of your so-called proofs apply to me.

I left my religion in the third grade about 50 years ago.

I don't believe in any supernatural power that governs the universe.

I follow no centralized institution to guide or make up beliefs for me.

I am in no religious order.

I have no spiritual leader.

I have not pursued anything with zeal in my entire life except a couple of women who used to frequent a bar I worked at in the 70s.

Still I am a believer.

Love and blessings Don

Most people think that religion is just a sit of rules when they think of religion. Not the true meaning of the word. It's the meaning of the word in modern day culture that isn't correct, this is another case of when the culture's belief is stronger than the meaning of the word.

Now, before you start to think you won the battle, you have to understand that Christians have a relationship with God, not only a sit of religious believes. That's why Christianity is so different from any other religion, because it's more relationship then religion. And, no, you won't have any other person belonging to a plain religion saying that!

Black Atheist, Do you spot how some don't understand the question? they have in no way come to words with the words they use. They use them how they see individuals use them, and parrot those usages. Tehy thik that they understand, yet while it comes time to specific themselves actual, they grow to be perplexed. that's what faith is to me. So I detest it. This derfinition of that be conscious, "faith" does not disguise all the definitions of that be conscious, even if it does disguise those on conformity. the physique of persons adhering to a definite set of ideals and practices: a international council of religions. the prepare of non secular ideals; ritual observance of religion. those are the definitions i take advantage of when I communicate approximately faith, in a damaging way. Now, approximately your definition. "you're non secular in case you a million. pray 2. pass to church 3 worship God in anyway 4. act on your concept in God" Does this recommend that in case you do not do extra than a number of of those, which you at the instant are not any longer non secular? Why could not you only be conscious in undemanding terms a kind of attributes and be non secular? Or are you attempting to set a typical in definition for others to stick to? "be conscious: some dictionarys even says in case you think in god you're non secular" i could agree that it is ONE definition. that is not required to have a God, and function a faith even with the indisputable fact that.

Because we think more about our relationship to God, as our Father. Of course if you belong to a Church and value the beliefs of that Church, that is religion. But what is central is the personal relationship with Christ. Church is a once or twice a week service. Following Jesus is a daily, moment by moment decision, because we find Him worthy of our love and respect.

I believe in God, an universal god - Earth, sun, wind, etc. And yet, I don't follow a religion. I'm secular.

If you look the word 'secular', you will see that it means 'non-religious', not 'without god'.

People associate religion with a certain god. But it's not necessarily true.

Organized religion and the concept of believing in God are totally different.

I am a Christian but have no religion so I've always said that I'm not religious even though I love God and Jesus with all my heart and have a good walk with Him. But that last definition you wrote shows me that I am religious, I guess because I pursue my Christian cause and principles with zeal and devotion. Thanks for correcting some of us on that.

Organized religion has such bad rep that most people believe in God but is hesitant to adopt any particular religion due to not wanting to be restricted in actions and told what to think.

I believe that they are making a distinction between the definition of "religion" in the context of being a sort of legalist way of living and externalizing one's belief system vs. the internalized belief and relationship with the supernatural that results in peace, faith, love, happiness, hope, perseverence and really living what you believe.... belief or faith vs. religion.

I do not even like the word religion. I believe that Jesus came here to free us from religions. He wanted to teach us to have a personal relationship with God.

Many Christians believe that to be lumped together with other religions somehow debases their perceived monopoly on truth. It is much the same reason religionist think they are superior to rational thinkers only taken one step closer by relegating other religions to the inferior category. They are whacked, a cult of one is a religion.
